The Nueva Segovia Consortium of Cooperatives (NSCC) is a collaborative network fostering economic empowerment and development in the Ilocos region of the Philippines. Consisting of multiple cooperatives, it serves as a unified platform for members to pool resources, share expertise, and promote sustainable growth across various sectors, including agriculture, finance, and community-based initiatives. It started from the humblest of beginnings: one desk in the corner of a shared office space in the Archdiocese of Nueva Segovia, Vigan City. It has since grown to many branches around the region with assets in the nine figures (Philippine Pesos). There are countless inspiring stories of members who have used the cooperative services to grow their businesses and improve their livelihood.
In the summer of 2022, I was brought on to do portrait and documentary photography for the cooperative’s upcoming coffee table book. They make a book every five years to document the progress and development within the cooperative, and this time around we worked on Volume 2. The book was finally released in 2023 and I can now share some of my favorite images from the book. It was an honor and pleasure to be part of this project!
