Gwanggyo New City (광교신도시) is one of Korea’s “planned cities”. Located just south of Seoul, the area is full of luxury residential areas, department stores, and well-manicured parks. It is a testament to South Korea’s economic progress and dedication to further development outside the capital city.
My good friend and colleague Dylan Goldby and I recently had a commercial shoot in the area and we set aside a little time to wander and photograph the utopian city as well as the humans moving within it. We explored the area around Woncheon Lake and a few blocks of Yeongtong-gu. Although our time there was short, it was an interesting experience and we had some great morning light to work with as well.
