It’s amazing to see what passionate individuals can accomplish when they pursue their dreams. Kim Yong-deok was a banker who was passionate about coffee. Over the years, he has grown this passion into Terarosa Coffee, one of South Korea’s premier domestic coffee brands. Now with branches all over Korea, Terarosa has helped put Korean coffee on the map not only with its high quality products, but also with its efforts to create spaces where people can experience it. The biggest of these spaces can be found in Gangneung, Gangwondo province. The Terarosa Coffee Factory is a huge, beautiful space that combines a coffee factory with a museum, cafe, and restaurant.
I was recently commissioned to photograph the visit of a group of executives to the space and it was an amazing experience. The museum tour is full of sights, sounds, and smells to behold and the brunch that followed has set the bar high in my book.
