Early spring rain passed /
I wander through the woods /
Chasing waterfalls and cascades /
The sounds comforting /
The smells enchanting /
The sights burned into pixels /
The days of hurt and healing. /

Photographer’s Notes:
These photos were taken in Tongyeong, South Korea (Mireuk-San 미륵산, Yonghwasa Temple 용화사) and Gurye, South Korea (Hwaeomsa Temple 화엄사). I have been enjoying hiking lately not only for photography and exercise, but also just to have some quiet time for myself. The spring rains have brought some nice cascades going through the mountain woods, making the walks even more beautiful.
My new camera (at the time of writing), the Fujifilm X-H1 with it’s in-body stabilization (IBIS) have helped me to easily photograph moving water without a tripod. The variable ND filter allows me to drag the shutter from 1/8 to 1/2 of a second, which is enough for silky water shots. Not having a tripod to set up helps me to travel very light (one camera, one lens, no bag) and move quickly.
